Bangladesh-Indonesia Friendship Art Exhibition 2019 Strengthens Bilateral Cultural Ties
Yogyakarta, Indonesia – The Bangladesh-Indonesia Friendship Art Exhibition (BIFAE) 2019 was officially inaugurated at the Kersan Art Gallery on October 25, 2019, showcasing a vibrant collection of contemporary artworks by renowned artists from Bangladesh and Indonesia. This prestigious event, curated by Md Imran Hossen, highlights the growing artistic collaboration between the two nations and fosters deeper cultural exchange.
The exhibition was officiated by H.E. Major General Azmal Kabir, OSP, pcs, Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia, and his spouse, Farhana Kabir Shimu, alongside the esteemed Indonesian art patron Dr. Oei Hong Djien. The presence of such distinguished guests emphasized the diplomatic and cultural significance of the event, marking a milestone in the artistic relationship between Bangladesh and Indonesia.

The exhibition was also a parallel event commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Widayat, one of Indonesia’s most influential modern artists. This tribute added an extra layer of artistic depth and historical significance to BIFAE 2019, reinforcing the importance of preserving and promoting regional artistic heritage.

A Collaborative Initiative for Artistic Growth
BIFAE 2019 was jointly organized by the Kersan Art Foundation, Indonesia, in collaboration with BIFAP Dhaka, Bangladesh, further strengthening the artistic and institutional ties between the two nations.
