Bali Art Expo-2023 Showcases Global Artistic Excellence in Ubud

Ubud, Bali – The prestigious Bali Art Expo-2023 took place from December 1-7, 2023, at the renowned Sika Art Gallery in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Curated by Md. Imran Hossen, the international exhibition brought together talented artists from Bangladesh, Indonesia, the USA, and India, offering a vibrant cultural and artistic exchange.

Organized by NSG Artists Group, the event was spearheaded by Lenny Weichert (Indonesia), with key coordination efforts by Rebeka Neela Noman (USA), Shamima Akther (Bangladesh), and Shobnam Chowdhury (Bangladesh). The exhibition was supported by Sika Art Gallery and Kersan Art Foundation, further strengthening the collaboration between artistic communities from diverse backgrounds.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by H.E. Mr. Heru Hartanto Subolo, Ambassador of Indonesia to Bangladesh, as the chief guest. Among the distinguished special guests were Prof. Dr. I Wayan Adnyana, Rector of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Denpasar, Bali, Mr. Md Shajebur Rahman, Charge d’Affaires of the Bangladesh Embassy in Indonesia, and Mr. Naveen Meghwal, Director of the Indian Cultural Center (SVCC) in Bali.

A highlight of the expo was the Contemporary Art Talk, where artists and scholars engaged in insightful discussions on the evolving art scene in South and Southeast Asia. The event also featured a live painting performance by Indian artist Manoj Das and a live performance art piece by Indonesian artist Angeli Aisyah Mayzuhra, captivating audiences with their creative expressions.

Adding a personal touch to the occasion, renowned artist Mohammad Sujaul Abedeen (Abedeen Kishan) presented special portrait paintings as gifts to the distinguished guests. The exhibition also showcased artworks by S.M. Mizanur Rahman and Sumon Chandra Das (Kuasha Bindu), while the event’s visual aesthetics were designed by Aseem Das.

The Bali Art Expo-2023 successfully fostered cross-cultural artistic dialogue, celebrating the rich heritage and contemporary expressions of participating nations. Through an immersive blend of art exhibitions, live performances, and discussions, the event left an indelible mark on the international art community, strengthening creative ties between Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, and the USA.
