Pabna Art Camp 2024: A Celebration of Art Beyond Boundaries

Curated by MD Imran Hosen

Pabna, Bangladesh – The Panna Art Camp 2024, curated by Md. Imran Hossen and organized by the NSG Artists Group, took place from April 10 to April 12, 2024, at the Sukorma Foundation, Padma River View, Harding Bridge, Pabna. This immersive art experience brought together artists, local communities, and students, emphasizing the essence of art beyond urban spaces.

A Collaborative Artistic Endeavor

The event was coordinated by Shaikh Suhana and Nipa Gomes, with workshops led by Artist Sumon Chandra Das (Kuasha Bindu). The camp fostered collaborative creativity, involving local people, students, and the Sukorma Foundation, making art accessible to those who have limited exposure to artistic practices.

Engaging the Community Through Art

A highlight of the camp was the creation of a painting at an orphan children’s school, where artists interacted with children, sharing their passion for art and creativity. Additionally, over the three-day camp, artists painted in open-air settings and explored the rich heritage sites of Pabna, engaging in meaningful discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions among group members.

Art Without Barriers: A Unique Experience

Unlike conventional art exhibitions, Panna Art Camp 2024 embraced a free-flowing, informal approach. Artists painted without the constraints of gallery walls, allowing villagers and rural communities—many of whom had never experienced art firsthand—to witness and engage with the creative process.

Art for All: Bridging the Gap Between Urban and Rural Art Culture

The camp stood as a powerful statement that art is not just for city dwellers but for everyone. It provided an inclusive platform where people from different walks of life could appreciate and engage with artistic expression.

This three-day journey of painting, cultural exploration, and artistic dialogue was a remarkable experience, reinforcing the belief that art has no boundaries and is a universal language that can unite people across diverse backgrounds.
