Maranatha International Art Expo 2023: A Global Artistic Convergence

The Maranatha International Art Expo 2023 emerged as a landmark event in the international art scene, uniting artists from Bangladesh and Indonesia in a powerful display of cultural exchange and artistic synergy. Hosted at the prestigious Maranatha Art Space, within the Maranatha Art and Design Center (MADC) at Maranatha Christian University, Bandung, the exhibition ran from November 15-30, 2023, and was inaugurated by the President of Maranatha Christian University, solidifying its significance in the global art community.
Curated by distinguished art experts Dr. Ismet Zainal Effendi, M.Sn (Indonesia) and Md Imran Hossen (Bangladesh), the expo featured a distinguished lineup of 33 Bangladeshi artists alongside 5 notable Indonesian artists. Their works reflected a dynamic intersection of tradition and modernity, offering an immersive narrative on cultural identity, innovation, and contemporary artistic discourse.
This exhibition was a pivotal component of a collaborative initiative between the National Sculpture Gallery and Maranatha Christian University, aimed at fostering deeper international artistic engagement. Notably, the project was spearheaded by Md Imran Hossen, serving as a visiting faculty member in Art Management and International Exhibition Curating at the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) at Maranatha Christian University. His visionary approach facilitated a platform where artists could engage in cross-cultural dialogues and expand their global outreach.
